Facebook 3-D Filters – How to use them to Market Your Business
How to Use the new Facebook Video Chat Tools to make great content for Facebook and Other Platforms. If you didn’t know: now Facebook Messenger has introduced Facebook Video Chat. You can Video chat/call with a few people and Facebook says you can even Video Chat with up to 50 people. The people on the group video chat will see the one dominating the talking on the screen.
This is what it will look like. Also you can add people while still on the chat.
What does this mean for the beauty industry professionals who use Facebook Pages to keep business growing? Well, not much, unless you have your customers following you as an actual Facebook friend on your Personal Facebook Profile. But this feature might be used to have once-a-week meetings. You could also use Video Chat to engage your customers which, in my opinion, is not the best marketing choice; but I wanted to inform you of the updates on the messeger app because of the new features attached to it. [You will need WiFI to use video chat or pay for data or suffer a week signal that can bounce you off the chat.]
The big reason I bring up Facebook Messenger’s Video chat is that they added some Snapchat and Instagram-Story magic into its platform. I think Facebook is trying to entice Snapchatters and Instagramers Story Users to use the Facebook Video Chat on Facebook Messenger. Facebook loyalists will certainly use Video Chat to keep in touch with some selected friends and family. As I’ve stateted, you may use it to hold small meetings with staff or keep in-touch with clients. But Facebook messenger might be too nerdy for a younger generation who love using Snapchat.

Here’s the deal: The best Feature that Facebook Messenger has rolled out with the Faceboook Video Chat is the feature that really sparks my interest. And I think that you are also going to love it, but not just for Facebook Video Chats. The feature I love is the 3-D Filters that were added to enhance your chat/video experience but I will tell you how you can use them to help you grow your business with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and even email.
When you open up your Facebook Messenger App in you smartphone, there will be big circle in the bottom center of your screen IF YOU HAVE THE LATEST UPDATED VERSION OF THE APP and you’re an iPhone user. Some Androids don’t have this feature yet. I do, I have a Samsung 7 Active. But, don’t worry, you’ll get it in a couple of weeks.
So: Click on that biggest circle at the bottom center of your screen. At the top of your screen you should have a go-back to last screen button, a reverse camera/selfie button and a smiley face button for your 3-D Filters which include masks and effects, seasonal-everything and stickers like ears, noses and sayings. There a tons of them! And you can play around with them to really come up with some great artistic memes and graphics.

You’ll be able to move the graphic around. Expand them. Smallify them. So far, I’ve used up to ten of these graphics at once and that was with one of the moveable Facebook 3-D Filters like the 2017 glasses and top hat! Just like Snapchat Filters, some of the “Masks” will do extra things such as snow or rain or expode when you stick out your tongue or open your mouth wide; but I don’t see any rainbows yet. You can then use the colored pen button on top to scribble, black-out backgrounds or draw or make speech bubbles. Then you can use the type button at the, top of your screen, to spell words or sentences; which are only one font right now but you can enlarge or smallify, which is very kewl.
Once you have all your stickers, graphics, scribbles, words and Facebook 3-D Filters that you want to use, take a snap-picture or a video. You can snap or video in either selfie style or of a landscape, object or of someone else. Simply take a snap-shot or hold down the big circle the bottom center of your screen. Then you’ll see a downward arrow in the lower left hand part of your screen and bigger arrow on the right hand. The small arrow lets you download you pic or your less-than-16-second video to your phone’s gallery. The big arrow takes you to a list or group of people who you might want to send your pic or video to.
AND you’ll still be able to draw more or add text or even more stickers! This feature is da bomb! You can even upload to your Facebook Video Messenger Picture to Snapchat and share with your friends. YIKES!
This brings me to how you’ll use this graphic making feature to help market your business. As you know, stylists and salon and spa owners use Instagram and visual graphics to entice new customers and keep existing customers engaged. But your downloaded pictures and videos, done with the Facebook Messenger App can, really pump up the excitement in your marketing with:
- Facebook Pages

In the salon, your customer will be more inclined to show off their smiling faces with Facebook 3-D Filters and fun stickers than only letting you take pictures of their hair. The graphics on the Facebook Messenger app gives you so many more options as far as how you present your salon or spa or business.
