Start Your Own Blog
I’m not going to lie: A good blog takes discipline. But so many people don’t even start because they think that blogging will take all of their time. NOT. An hour a week is all it takes to make a good consistent blog. You just have to set some time aside and then stick to your schedule.
Blogs do not have to be long. In fact, the shorter the better! Two paragraphs can say a lot and relay your message to your readers much more than a long blog. Sometimes I write-on too much and when I re-read some of my old blogs, I think: “I got it, I GOT IT!”
Most clients and would-be professional writers that I coach always seem to get stuck thinking that they will have to do a lot of research before they begin their blog top or even a book or short story. NOT! Just sit down and write what you know. When you are finished, you will know how much more research you will need if at all.
If you dump all of your thoughts about your topic on a WORD doc, 12 pt New Times Roman, and you go past 3/4 of a page, you probably have a two-parter blog!
Don’t forget to add nice graphics. And learn how to SEO all of your blogs so that people searching the internet for your blog topics will find you. I’ll blog about these topics in the coming weeks.
